Replacing Your Toilet

Supplies needed:  Toilet, wax ring, closet bolts, supply line, pipe thread compound, toilet seat and optional shut-off valve.

Removing Old Toilet

  2. Remove all the excess water from the bowl with a sponge.
  3. Remove the bolts that holds the toilet to the floor. Then lift the toilet off the flange.
  4. Place an old rag into the hole to keep sewer gases from coming into the room.
  5. Using a putty knife, scrap away the old wax from around the flange.

     Installing New Toilet

   A.  Place the new wax ring around the base of the bowl and
         press firmly into place.

   B.  Install the new closet bolts and carefully align and set the toilet back onto the flange.

   C.  Finally tighten the bowl to the floor and reconnect the water supply line.
